What is solidarity?
Union/fellowship arising from common responsibilities & interests, as between members of a group or between classes, peoples
Organizing as much as possible so as not to give power away to bosses, lawyers, outside organizers, union staff, or anyone else
Help other people’s struggles to defend existing conditions or defend their attempt to build something
Willingness to give psychological and/or material support when another person is in a difficult position or needs affection.
Treating all as Christ: Visiting the sick, Releasing the captives, Clothing the naked, etc
Recognition that all our struggles against oppression are connected, and acting on that assumption
Willingness to sacrifice or risk for another's well-being, knowing that you may need them in a similar situation to defend you

Solidarity
I think that all of this are connected somehow and that no one thing can define solidarity; I think it is a personal definition.

What does the government's Indigenous Residential Schools apology mean to you?:
It's a historic day for Canada - the first formal recognition of the huge damage of the schools
It didn't go far enough - why didn't they talk about land, pollution and poverty in Native communities?
Public relations scam. I don't buy it.
It actually seemed like a heartfelt apology. Maybe there's hope for change in white-Indigenous relations
I don't know anything about Residential Schools. Or it doesn't concern me very much.
